A Prayer for Strength

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary.

— Isaiah 40:31

A Prayer for Strength

Father, I am tired. Not just tired in the way that sleep fixes — but tired in my spirit. Your Word says You give power to the faint and increase strength to the powerless. I need that today.

I exchange my weakness for Your strength right now. Not because I am worthy, but because You are faithful. Let me soar where I have been crawling.

You are my strength when I have none of my own. That is not a metaphor — it is a covenant promise. You are enough.

Amen.

What Does the Bible Say?

The Bible is honest about human weakness. Paul boasts about his weakness because it is the context for God's strength (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). God's strength is given to those who admit they need His.

Bible Verses

1
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
— Philippians 4:13
What this means: Paul wrote this from prison. God's capacity is available to you in every situation.
2
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
What this means: God's strength does not fill in around your strength — it replaces it.
3
"The joy of the Lord is your strength."
— Nehemiah 8:10
What this means: Joy here is the settled confidence that God is present. That settled knowing becomes supernatural strength.
4
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
— Psalm 46:1
What this means: Refuge + strength + ever-present. Three guarantees in one verse.
