A Prayer for Encouragement
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
— Joshua 1:9Father, I need encouragement today. Not a pep talk — I need something real that reaches the tired part of me. I come to You with that exhaustion.
You encouraged Elijah when he wanted to quit. You encouraged Joshua before an impossible task. I need the same kind of encouragement now.
Strengthen my spirit today. Let your joy be my strength. I choose to believe that this is not the end of my story.
Amen.What Does the Bible Say?
Encouragement appears throughout Scripture as an active verb. Barnabas was so known for encouraging others that the apostles renamed him "Son of Encouragement." Encouragement flows from truth — the confident reminder of who God is.
