A Prayer for Healing

"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the Lord.

Jehovah Rapha, Lord who heals — I bring You my need for healing. You know every detail of what is broken: the diagnosis, the wound, the part of me that has not been whole in longer than I can remember.

I stand on Your covenant promise today. Your Word cannot return void. Give wisdom to doctors, strength to treatments, and comfort in the waiting.

I receive Your healing — in whatever form You bring it, at whatever pace You ordain. Let Your Spirit work in my body and mind right now. I trust You with the timeline.

What Does the Bible Say?

Healing is a consistent theme throughout Scripture. The Hebrew word rapha means to heal, restore, make whole. Isaiah 53:5 says, "By His wounds we are healed." Jesus healed every person who came to Him.

What this means: The healing Jesus purchased was not only spiritual. His wounds created the pathway for your restoration.

By his wounds you have been healed.

What this means: Past tense — you HAVE been healed. This healing was accomplished before your need arose.

Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them.

What this means: God designed healing to happen in community. Ask others to pray with you.
