A Prayer for Marriage

Father, I bring You this marriage — the whole of it. The beautiful parts I am grateful for and the painful parts I do not know how to carry. You see every layer of what my spouse and I are navigating.

Help me to love my husband the way You love — not based on what I receive, but based on the covenant I made. Soften the places in my heart that have grown hard through hurt.

God, be at the center of this home. Let Your peace be the atmosphere we live in. Protect this covenant from everything that would attack it.

Amen.

What Does the Bible Say?

Marriage in the Bible is described as a covenant — a sacred agreement that reflects Christ's relationship with the Church (Ephesians 5:25-32). It is not primarily a contract but a promise based on unconditional commitment.
