The Bible does not tell us not to grieve — it tells us not to grieve as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13). God is not disturbed by your grief — He enters it with you. Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.— Psalm 34:18
What this means: Notice it says the Lord IS close — present tense. Right now, in the exact place where your heart is broken, He is near.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.— Revelation 21:4
What this means: God is personally going to wipe every tear from your eyes — not a distant God handing you tissues, but a Father who cups your face.

Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.— Psalm 30:5
What this means: God does not rush your grief. Weeping may STAY for the night. But morning comes.

The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.— 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
What this means: God comforts you so that you can comfort others. Your grief has a purpose beyond yourself.
